An elegant Lake Ashton Country Club Wedding
I have gone back and forth on which sweet memory from Nick and Pie’s wedding I should share with you. Not only was this Lake Ashton Golf Club wedding beautiful in every detail, it was so pure and full of so many precious memories. Nick and Pie are easily two of the kindest, most joyful, caring, and just all around amazing people you’ll ever have the honor of meeting.
The sweet smell of her perfume…
I guess since I can’t seem to narrow it down to one special moment, I’ll briefly share a few of my favorites. One of the details I photograph at almost every wedding is the bride’s perfume. Not only is this an elegant detail to photograph, it holds a special memory. Nick proved that point. Nick stood propped against the wooden door. His Eyes closed. Phailin (pronounced: pie-lynn) walked by him to get to the other side of the door. He didn’t feel her walk by, didn’t see her walk by, but he smelled her sweet perfume! The first thing he noticed was the familiar scent of her sweet perfume. He will never forget that smell. That scent now has an even greater memory attached to it.
Family played a large role in this special day.
Pie and I have a sad thing in common, the loss of our precious daddy’s. During our consultation we chatted about what she may do special in honor of her father. I shared what I did for my Dad and Pie loved the idea so much that she also chose to honor her Dad in the same way. Pie created a slideshow of photos of her father and played it during as her mother and her danced to a song dedicated to him. Of course I was in tears but also smiled ear to ear as I watched Phailin and her sweet mother hold each other and laugh as they watched the joyful memories of the man who made such a huge impact in both of their lives.
Nick also paid great tribute to both of his parents in such special ways. He gifted a sweet hanker-chief to his mother, she was so surprised and grateful for such a genuine gift! Nicks dad, was given the high honor of being his, Best Man. I mean who better to choose than the man who’s given you life, guided you and helped mold you into the man you are today! His father didn’t take his duties lightly. During his toast, there was no holding back his heart and tears. It was such a joy to see just how proud he was to call Nick his son.
I wish you every ounce of happiness and many years of laughter!
I know the end of these blogs probably all start to sound the same after a while. I’ll try to make this one a little different.
Nick you may think nothing of when you took Ana and I by the hands at the end of the night. Then proceeding to drag us all around the dance floor, and taking us to the waiter and telling him to give us whatever we wanted to drink because we are two the hardest working women ever, I can’t tell you what that meant to us. Phailin, the seats you reserved just for us at your guest table, thank you so much. You both showered us with love, kindness and appreciation. There were moments when I felt we were not worthy but realized that’s just your hearts for people. As someone who finds joy in serving and loving others, I have such a beautiful respect when I get to experience others doing the same, even when not necessary.
I am so grateful the two of you chose me to serve you on your wedding day! I truly consider you friends and can’t wait to see all the joy life brings you as you start this beautiful new journey in your lives together!
