Reign on the Wedding Day
200 year old oak trees draped the ceremony in inviting shade and stunning Spanish moss. 24 acres of unspoiled beauty and a sea of citrus trees lightened the air around us that stepped onto the grounds of Adam’s Estate. One of the most beautiful venue’s I’ve had the pleasure of shooting. The only thing that made the grounds even brighter and more beautiful was Melody as she stepped forward to meet her groom on the banks of Lake Alfred.
I need to take a minute here to talk about Melody’s gown; more importantly her cape! Bridal capes are the in accessory this season and I am here for it! They give a dramatic look that can take the place of a train AND a veil. The best part, you can take it off for dancing and mingling and slip it back on for sunset photos. No bustle to mess with, no ribbons, buttons, or clasps needing done, undone, and redone. Melody’s cape was undeniably regal and is the grand statement she needed to match (and totally outshine!) the grandeur of her venue!
The entire event, from the venue to the floral arrangements was black tie elegance. Melody and Ryan, with their florist, designed a beautiful alter spilling in pink, blush, and ivory roses. Dressed to the nines, guests enjoyed an incredible dessert display of flaming donuts. You heard me – flaming donuts! I didn’t know you could light donuts on fire but now that I know, I’m going to need Dunkin’ to add this to their menu.
A Modern Romance
A wedding typically revolves around the bride and groom. But if you’ve met Melody and Ryan, you know they don’t do anything typical. Their wedding day would be utterly incomplete without their flower girl, and adorable daughter, Olivia! It was so easy to see Olivia is the light of Melody and Ryan’s life. They may be living their life in a way that seems untraditional, but they are living a life of love that is so beautifully them! They throw out the rhyme ‘something new, something blue” and have fully embraced the wedding trend of Millennials of ‘something new, something YOU!” Ryan and Melody’s wedding was so much more than two people committing to each other. It was all about three individuals confirming what they already know. That they will continue to live for their family, love the moments each day holds, and commit to whatever the future may bring. It was a family of three binding into one unit. Melody, Ryan, and Olivia are a tale of true modern romance.
Melody and Ryan I loved so much that neither of you ever seemed “nervous” about walking down the aisle or “tying the knot” as they say. You were both so calm and present. I mean it makes perfect sense, when you are about to marry your best friend, what is there to be nervous about. You are already confident in your love for one another and now you just get to finalize it publicly with your small group of closest family and friends. It was such an honor to serve you on your wedding day. Your little family is so very wonderful and I am so thankful to have had the privilege of seeing you live out your dream wedding together. May your days together be filled with so much love and laughter. I am so excited for the three of you and can’t wait to follow along on your beautiful life journey together (via social media lol).
