De’Angelys danced with the boys, her chambelanes. They encircled her. She stood in the middle. It was as if they were creating a circle of protection around her. Then, unexpectedly, her father came from the crowd, into the circle, and swept his precious little girl off her feet and twirled her around. The room was filled with such awe in that moment. Tears ran down my face from behind my camera. My heart was touched. This quick moment stood for so much more than a simple move in a dance. A Father’s love is like a Lion. It is strong yet also so delicate. It is a love like no other and one of great importance.

They danced. After DeeDee danced with her guys she then danced with her father. Tears streamed down her face. She held him close. He also held on tight. They cried together and smiled together. Although this moment in her life that represents a time of maturing and growing, it doesn’t take hinder the bond between a daughter and her father. As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t help but to fast forward and imagine this dance at her wedding. I believe it would be quite similar but even then, in a new season of her life, I believe that her Daddy will still be the lion and protector he has always been.

Even though it was evident that Dee is a daddy’s girl, she also loves her sweet Momma. Yolando never stopped serving or loving her daughter and guests as long as I was there. She even checked on Ana and I countless times. She worked so hard to ensure that this special event in her little girls life was perfect. The bond between DeeDee and her mom was special. Her mom is her safe-haven.

This was the first time Ana and I worked a Quinceanera and we loved every single second of it! There were so many special moments and so much joy filled their families. I look forward to serving more beautiful families in celebrating this special time in the future!

De’Angelys, You are already such a kind, joy-filled, easy-going, and beautiful young lady! You carry so many wonderful qualities from your sweet Mom and Dad! Always keep your love for Jesus. Remember that kindness is the most beautiful quality a girl can wear and never let anyone hinder you from exploring this amazing world and all that it has to offer you!
