Bok Tower Engagement Session

Most of the time I am the one who travels to different destinations for my couples engagement sessions (which I LOVE doing!). This time, my sweet couple traveled to my beautiful hometown. It was such an honor to show off the beautiful gem we have in Lake Wales to them. Bok Tower is just magical to me, I never grow tired of it. I was so excited to have Stef and Josh here for their engagement session and to get to show them this gorgeous, historic garden for the very first time!

“Walking, adds movement”

I love having my couples walk, as part of the “posing” process. It provides so much movement to their photos.  When my girls walk,  hair is blowing from the wind and her dress flows gently with every step. Stef and Josh had already become pros at walking. This time, I asked them to stop about half way and kiss. They walked, as usual. But THIS time Stefani swung around to Josh and kissed him like I couldn’t even believe. I may have squealed a little, but OH EM GEEEEE!! This girl pulled out some major confidence and sass and I loved it!!!

I’ll be the first to admit that engagement sessions can be a little scary. It’s not easy standing in front of someones camera, much less doing it all snuggled up and intimate with your sweetie! It can feel intimidating and awkward AT FIRST! We worry about how we look and if the poses look as awkward as they feel sometimes. Stefani and Josh are super modest, kind and quiet people! They are so sweet and not boastful in any way. I knew from meeting them at their consultation that they may be a little nervous for their engagement photos. Which is WHY I got soo excited when she was able to relax and just have fun during her session!

Let me just share that all of THIS, the worries and self doubt is EXACTLY why I stress the importance of having an engagement session before your wedding. This gives us an opportunity to get to know one another a little more, familiarize my couples with their photography experience with me. Then, once you get your engagement photos back you get a beautiful reassurance and boost of confidence when you see how much you totally rocked your session!

Stefani and Josh, you guys totally nailed it and I am totally swooning over how beautiful your love and these photos are. You’ve already beat so many odds in life together and I don’t see you stopping anytime soon! I can’t wait to be a part of your wedding day!!
