Christmas is my very favorite Holiday. It’s the one that pulls at my heart strings to most. It’s always a quiet time of reflection for me. I reflect mostly on the sweetness of our Savior, of the sacrifice Mary made and the emotions she must have been feeling. I reflect on years past, years that all I longed for was to be a mother. I reflect on loved ones passed whom I miss dearly like my Daddy and Poppop.
There’s also a joy in me like no other during this season. I feel like a child again as I look at Christmas lights. I love the “Magic” of Christmas. The extra kindness in smiles and hearts this time of year fills my soul. The sounds of Christmas music playing everywhere bring me happiness.
I’ve now had three Christmas’ with my beautiful daughter and I seem to appreciate and value this day with her even more with every passing year. Jesus is the reason for the season and Jesus is my source of Joy, but can I also say how much my heart is filled watching my beautiful girl on Christmas morning. I couldn’t ask for anything more wonderful in a daughter. She is my forever Christmas gift and I’m eternally grateful for the blessing of her in my life.
She’s a WHOLE LOT of Spice mixed with a little bit of Sugar. And please know taking these photos was such a challenge for the moms out there who may look and think “oh, how perfect” HA! You most definitely didn’t see me sweating, begging, bribing and getting oh so frustrated while trying to capture these. I took over 800 photos in a 15-20 minute span and these are the “highlights” and ones worthy of keeping lol!
Anyways, From my family to yours, I wish you the Merriest of Christmas’! I hope my little girl can bring a smile to your face this Christmas Day.
