Faith Hope and Love
“There is never enough time on this earth that could ever be enough time with you.” To have been one
of the 54 guests watching, fully present in the deep love and intimacy Amanda and Brooks share is
something I will forever be in awe of. However, my position behind the camera is not one I would’ve traded for
anything on this day, because I am the only one who was able to witness what I can only describe as true and unconditional love spilling over. During their “First Look”, I watched from behind my lens as Brooks stood facing
away, waiting for his lovely bride. I could feel his excitement, nervousness, all the feelings you expect
from a groom on his wedding day bubbling up to the surface, ready to spill out in happy tears as soon as
he’d see her face. Amanda stopped just short of her groom. If she was nervous, she didn’t show it as her
hands held steady clutching a gift for her husband-to-be. A bible inscribed with his name, a message of
love and hope for their future. When Brooks turned around to face his bride he saw her hair, her
makeup, her dress; he saw the bible in her hands, the love of God in her heart, and the future in her
eyes. She was all together beautiful. When Amanda saw Brooks she saw the strength of her mother, the
perseverance of her father, the confidence of her brother, the love of life and humor of her
grandmother, the love of outdoors of her grandfather, and the love of God and church of her family. He
was everything she loved in her family in one wholly wonderful man. Emotions burst to
the surface as Brooks and Amanda sank into each other’s arms.
In Love and In Service
One of my favorite parts of the day was when Amanda and Brooks took communion during
their ceremony demonstrating their foundation in Christ. This moment was one that will stay with me and their guests for years to come. Once they took communion together
as husband and wife, they turned to their guests, the family and friends that have loved them and made
them who they are today to serve a welcome offering. One by one, each friend and family member
came to the alter, Amanda and Brooks humbly served communion individually to each of their 54
guests. It was a small gift in return for all the love and support given to them over the years.
A Cord of Three Strands
I cannot put this couple’s powerful love in words better Amanda did so, I will end this the way she ended
her vows. “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; if either of them
falls down, one can help the other up…though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A
cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Amanda & Brooks, there’s a lot to learn from the two of you. Your love is so grounded and pure. Your love for Christ and your knowledge of the true foundation of marriage is so beautiful. I can’t wait to sit back and watch your journey unfold (via social media lol). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to serve you on your wedding day, what an honor it has been!
Love you guys, Brandy
