Hi there! Welcome to the Brandy Grace blog, a journal about our lives, travels, weddings and engagements Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Brandy.

This year has been a blast. We have been to so many awesome locations, captured some of the most amazing couples in the universe and made some pretty sweet memories. We also have captured some pretty great behind the scenes photos of each other as well as some guests along the way.

Ana rocks at capturing killer second photos and behind the scenes photos of me working. Like this one from Allysia and Trenton’s Beer-Can-Island engagement session.

and these from Selina and Brian’s engagement session on that same beautiful beach.

By the way, for those of you who followed along on my Instagram stroy for that session, you might remember the weather conditions were not favorable.. Well I came across a photo from our session with Selina & Brian earlier this year and you can see just how high the water was and crazy the waves were in these photos below. (left A&T’s session, right S&B’s session!)

I’ve also had the pleasure of working with some pretty awesome people! I had the opportunity to work with and mentor the so sweet and talented Sunshine from Sunshine M. Photography.

I’ve had the privilege to work as a second photographer for Nikki Ogden from Nikki Ogden Photography! I’m pretty sure we are photography soul sisters! The first time I showed up to shoot with her (also the first time meeting her) one of the first things we noticed was that we both had the same exact camera strap! The second time we were wearing identical outfits except we wore the same style cover up in different colors!

One of my favorite memories from this year was having the high honor of meeting, working for, learning from and building a friendship with one of my much admired wedding photography rockstars, Rachel Graham!! This girl has uplifted me when I was down, taught me some of the most simple but life-changing photography life-hacks and truly become a dear and treasured friend!

She even to the time to capture a couple photos of me working while shooting her this wedding of her own (I’m telling y’all she’s a real life super woman 😉 )

I also got to capture some memories of one of my sweetest friends Katia and her family. I snuck in at the end of the session to snag this sweet memory of her and I! LOVE her to Pieces!

Mona  is no stranger to my camera. But this time I caught her on duty touching up McKenzie’s hair during their engagement session. This girl is the bomb! I mean how many hair stylist have you seen work out of a truck lol! It was rainy and dreary during this session so having her there to help touch up McKenzie’s curls was a heaven-send!

Mona also doubles as a moss holder to ensure I am able to add the right amount of creativity into my photo. This girl just does it all I tell you!

Continued education is so important to me. Here is a behind the scenes photo I took while participating in a workshop for flash photography for weddings. Hosted by the crazy talented Rad Red Creative Photography

Now, lets take a few moments to show some appreciation for the girl who’s captured many behind the scenes photos of me along with some pretty awesome second angles and photos of my couples! Ana always does an awesome job capturing some pretty great bts photos of me so I try to return the favor and snap some of her in return….

This girl pulls a wagon full of equipment through soft sugary sand like a beast and never complains. She switches my lenses, camera, batteries or whatever I may need at the drop of dime. When something goes wrong with my camera she’s there to hand me hers in a matter of seconds so I don’t miss a beat!

She has also figured out the true way to utilize the wagon…

She may or may not love being my test dummy when in a new lighting situation..

She also finds time to take the perfect selfie…

Although she may be a tad bit vertically challenged, she holds a reflector like a boss!

Ana, AKA poodle whisperer…

Whatever it is she’s doing she does it with all of her might. Whether it be pinecone modeling, taking killer second photographs of our couples, testing light, hauling wagons or any other crazy thing I ask of her she does it with a smile and she’s a huge asset to Brandy Grace Photography.

Okay enough about her. Here are just a few more of my favorite behind the scenes photos from 2017. They make me smile, they make me proud and they bring back some of the funniest, sweetest and beautiful memories.

This photo was taken right before I got my very first jellyfish sting 😐 (#rude)

I love when my couples can totally “emerge” themselves in the session (pun may or may not have been intended).

One of my favorite and most nerve-wracking memories from this year was helping to plan and execute Steven and Mindy’s surprise proposal!

This girl never forgets to slow down and take in the beauty of nature.

Those balancing skills tho!!

Oh yes, girl work it!!

Cheers to 2017. I can’t wait to see what 2018 holds!

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for all of your continued love and support!

Hugs, Brandy
