High School Sweethearts

I don’t cry at weddings very often, but Stephanie and Carlos were giving me all the feels. Steph and CJ waited 9 years for their wedding day. From the day they met when CJ was the cool drummer and Steph was the beautiful trombonist, it was love at first sight. How could it not be when they were wearing such captivating band uniforms? Being high school sweethearts has its trials, like when CJ went to USF/University of South Florida and Steph went to UCF/University of Central Florida and they dated long distance for four years. But it also has great rewards. Like finding love so early in life and getting to watch each other grow and become the person you love even more than the one you met in the band room nine years ago.

Dear Future Husband,

Nine years is a long time to wait, but it’s nothing compared to the forever they get to spend together, and Steph and CJ were totally worth it. When their day finally arrived, they didn’t want to wait one more hour to promise their hearts to each other. Before she was even slipping on her Hayley Paige gown, Steph was saying her vows. She wrote a love letter to her (almost) husband full of promise, hope and commitment to continue growing stronger and better as a couple because today was the day and she couldn’t hold back a moment longer. And just like he did in high school, CJ wrote a love note to his bride, only this time with 100% confidence she liked him back and signed his name at the bottom.

His letter was full of heart, happy tears, laughter, and private jokes between the two of them. And… you guessed it, vows! Steph and CJ are perfect for each other. How else can I explain how they both had the same idea making promises of love and commitment in pre-ceremony letters. I can’t! They go together like chocolate and peanut butter, cake and icing, Ariel and Batman (you had to be there). And by the way, I’m not saying CJ is Batman, I’m just saying no one has ever seen CJ and Batman in the same place at the same time. She was a princess who dreamed of walking and he was a hero that took her to the sky. They are two phenomenal, complete individuals who are truly better together than apart.

Thank you so much for letting me capture the beginning of your newest adventure and letting me be part of your world. The two of you have a love like none I’ve seen before. It’s one of a kind and it’s beautiful! I adore you both and am so excited to watch your journey continue to be filled with lots of joy and laughter! May you wear matching Yeezy’s even when you’re old and gray lol!

Big Hugs, Brandy
