It felt like Christmas all over again. When I walked into the beautiful Allen Barn for Hollie and Korey’s wedding, beautiful red roses sat on crisp white tablecloths. The arrangements had soft touches of baby’s breath and pine greenery. Even more beautiful than the decorations was the bond Korey and Hollie share. When they are together they balance each other and compliment each other in such a special way. These two smile and laugh, they are both so thoughtful and kind.
I always look forward to Best Man and Maid of Honor speeches. They are usually someone who the Bride and Groom have known for a very long time. They know them just about as well as the soon to be spouses do. You can learn a lot about a couple just by listening to these sweet speeches. Crayons. Yep, crayons was the topic that the best man chose to reminisce on. Apparently a little disagreement over crayons was how these two lifelong buds connected when they were just littles. I don’t even know the entire story on the crayons but Kyle mentioned something about Korey wanting the “good crayons”, I needed to hear no more. I totally understand Korey’s frustration, because who doesn’t know there are “good” crayons and crappy crayons! Besides mentioning how the two boys met, Kyle bragged on what a high honor it was to be such close friends with Korey.
Breanna, the Maid of Honor, is Hollie’s closest and dearest fried. She didn’t have a “prepared” speech. The amazing, kind and nurturing person that Hollie was so evident by listening to the sweet words Breanna spoke to her. The tears of gratitude that flowed down Breanna’s face were such an honest honor to Hollie. Breanna spoke of how becoming a mother gave her a whole new bond and respect for Hollie. The reason for this is so evident to me and probably anyone else who knows Hollie themselves. Hollie is a caretaker, she’s a nurturer. She worries and takes control when life get’s rocky. I recognize these characteristics quite easily in her.
Korey and Hollie are two beautiful souls with a whole lot kindness and laughter to offer the world. It was such an honor to spend the day with them and capture these memories for them.
Korey, I know deep down inside you’re gonna miss all of those awkward poses lol (okay, maybe not, but one can dream). Hollie, thank you for choosing me to serve you. I wish the two of you many years of happiness and a whole lot of smiles together.
P.S. Don’t forget to take a honeymoon, you’ll never regret it if you do!
