Joejo is the brother of my long time best friend Brittany. When their mom, Sandra, asked if I’d photograph their wedding it was easy to say yes. This family has treated me as if I were one of their own for a very long time (16 years to be exact). They are one of the most kind families I’ve ever met!
I always ask my brides to gather some bridal details for me, as these will be the first photos I take of the day. These details include those small but important details such as their rings, the bouquet, bridal jewerly, the grooms boutonnière and/or cufflinks, perfume or cologne that they may be wearing that day. Lisa brought me into her hotel room so she could get all of those sweet details to me. For me this is a normal routine but on this day, I was brought to tears. Almost every single thing she handed me had an enormous amount of sentimental value. Her ring was gifted to her by Joejoe’s mother, it was his grandmother’s. Joejoe’s ring (which was in it’s original box) was also gifted to him by Sandra, this was his father’s ring who passed away from cancer. The bracelet Lisa wore was made with love by her sister. The perfume Lisa handed to me was White Diamonds and it was the last gift Lisa had given to her mother before she passed away, a family member gifted it back to Lisa with a sweet note written on the box. Lisa’s bouquet along with all of the other arrangements and centerpieces were made with love by Joejo’s baby sister Brittany. This wedding was so full of value and love, it touched my heart in such a special way and I felt exceptionally proud while capturing memories of these beautiful details for them!
JoeJo, who is normally a lighthearted and funny guy was unusually emotional. His love for Lisa overflowed that day. The look on his face when he say his bride for the first time during their “First Look” was priceless. Lisa was calm, cool and collected throughout the day. She truly valued, treasured and understood the importance of this day. She seemed to really embrace and savor every minute. She was so appreciative to those who put their talents and time together to help create this beautiful day for her.
Lisa and Joejoe have been together for 21 years and have two beautiful boys together. This day of commitment to one another in front of God, their families and friends was just the “icing on the cake” so to speak. They’ve already proven such a great amount of loyalty, and unwavering love for one another over the years and I know their bond will just continue to strengthen and grow for many more years to come!
Lisa, Joejo, I wish you two a lifetime of happiness! I am grateful to know you both and honored to have been chosen to capture these memories for you that will last for generations to come. God Bless you both, may he bless your family and may he continue to strengthen, protect and speak to you for the rest of your beautiful lives together.
